About
What We Do
Illinois Learn to Hunt is an R3 program that has focused on recruiting, retaining, and reengaging hunters since 2017. We are funded by the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act (Pittman-Robertson Act) and are housed at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. We’re a collaborative effort between the Illinois Natural History Survey and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and we provide free education and workshop opportunities virtually and across the state to teach adult participants how to hunt deer, turkey, squirrels, pheasants, waterfowl, and other game, as well as how to trap furbearers in Illinois.
